Has B.J. Upton turned into a smaller version of Adam Dunn?
Despite the Mendoza-scratching batting average, Upton launched two home runs Saturday vs. the San Francisco Giants. It’s his seventh multi-hit and first multi-HR game in 2013. The seventh inning shot that also scored C Brian McCann was his eighth home run.
He’s still among the worst hitters in the league, with a 47 park adjusted OPS. In the last 365 days Upton is batting .208 BA / .277 OBP / 88 park adjusted OPS, with 32 home runs, 21 of which came from the second half of 2012.
Can he turn it around?
