Just a bit outside
The Boston Red sox agreed to a minor league deal with first baseman Lyle Overbay. The 36-year-old spent last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Atlanta Braves last season, hitting .259 BA / .331 OBP / .397 SLG / 93 park adjusted OPS.
His glove’s OK, and in 45 games with Arizona, he posted a 115 park adjusted OPS, while crushing right-handed starting pitchers. Well, sort of, because despite a .290 BA / .363 OBP / .813 OPS, his power has all but evaporated.
